islands, day 7
Hurricane Earl visited us! This morning we got up, the sun was up and we had our coffee latte on the balcony and we were saying "it is not possible for a hurricane hit us come" well! He arrived about 14 hours, preceded by heavy rain and the sea was beginning to form. And then suddenly we heard the raindrops in the house here and there, you leave quickly pans, cups furniture, wind blows in the BBQ that was poorly attached to the gallery, so I'm going downstairs and found cable back and tie the beast that took me at least half an hour, I got red eyes because I was getting in the face of rain, all wet, it's about 15 hours, the winds are about 100 km / hour, the house motion on all sides, the frames on the walls danced, the wind blows in winter, the sea is rough and there is no electricity. It is almost 16 hours when the wind suddenly changes direction after a brief lull during which I went to take some pictures of the sea has stopped raining but the wind is gusting continuous, electricity is restored, we were in the eye of Earl!.
It is 21 h30, the wind still graze the cattle, executives are still dancing, the house going, the gusts must reach 125 km / hr. I never thought a hurricane live in Quebec, this is my first and hopefully my last!
The wind is supposed to stop 23 hours, by then, we ate our smoked trout, pink drink to the sound of our door and windows that do not end more than lament. My computer is on the table and moves while I am writing these few lines ... Our vosines from below would leave by plane today, we do not know if they have managed to leave the islands, but ladies if you read these lines let us know. By the way, your Bouillabaise was exquisite! The pictures do not do justice to the force that nature displays but you do have a slight glimpse. To watch full screen!
