islands, day 7

Hurricane Earl visited us! This morning we got up, the sun was up and we had our coffee latte on the balcony and we were saying "it is not possible for a hurricane hit us come" well! He arrived about 14 hours, preceded by heavy rain and the sea was beginning to form. And then suddenly we heard the raindrops in the house here and there, you leave quickly pans, cups furniture, wind blows in the BBQ that was poorly attached to the gallery, so I'm going downstairs and found cable back and tie the beast that took me at least half an hour, I got red eyes because I was getting in the face of rain, all wet, it's about 15 hours, the winds are about 100 km / hour, the house motion on all sides, the frames on the walls danced, the wind blows in winter, the sea is rough and there is no electricity. It is almost 16 hours when the wind suddenly changes direction after a brief lull during which I went to take some pictures of the sea has stopped raining but the wind is gusting continuous, electricity is restored, we were in the eye of Earl!.
It is 21 h30, the wind still graze the cattle, executives are still dancing, the house going, the gusts must reach 125 km / hr. I never thought a hurricane live in Quebec, this is my first and hopefully my last!
The wind is supposed to stop 23 hours, by then, we ate our smoked trout, pink drink to the sound of our door and windows that do not end more than lament. My computer is on the table and moves while I am writing these few lines ... Our vosines from below would leave by plane today, we do not know if they have managed to leave the islands, but ladies if you read these lines let us know. By the way, your Bouillabaise was exquisite! The pictures do not do justice to the force that nature displays but you do have a slight glimpse. To watch full screen!

islands, day 6

Here are some pictures taken with kite surfers, finally I came out not too bad!

Quiet day today, is the calm before the storm, we are told 100km/heure winds gusting up to 125 hm / h! Hurricane Earl, which is up the coast and is expected to join us on Saturday (you will understand that I recounts the events of the day ...) then the staff came to the attached patio chairs, BBQ's, etc.. We went for halibut and a few good bottles of wine in case ... I think it is less difficult with a Bordeaux ...

Finally some pictures of Wolf Point and the beach Great Échouerie. Tomorrow, the topic of the day the storm will probably announced. Good day!

The islands, day 5

This morning I was to rendezvous with the sun, here is my first sunrise! By clicking on the image you'll see what I produced this morning.

Yesterday I told you about the color of the houses on the island Havre aux Maisons. Here's a montage that gives you an overview;

Today was the time of the islands: he boasted to "graze the cattle" but with a beautiful 26 degrees and winds gusting up to 45km per hour! So, we get the worm north Big Island and the island of Great Entrance. On this road at any given time there is the sea on both sides of the road and a few lagoons where we passed "kytes surfers" when a show and a challenge for me who is used to photograph flowers! To see tomorrow. At Pointe aux Loups, we visited a small port (7-8 boats) took some pictures and a little further to Cape Dauphin, we chatted with a young pair of musicians on the beach, they had a Labrador dog who liked to bring us a stick that are thrown into the water. Then we had lunch on the large white sand beach of Old Harry, a range of sight. Back home 6:30 p.m., with a bonus beautiful sunset that I have not had the chance to photograph, not serious, there will be others!

I want to apologize to my friends and friends that I regularly visit the blog, given that I produce my logbook and treat my photos in real time I do not have much time to rest, but I do forget it whenever I have a rainy day, I go around the whole world!

The islands, day 4

I left you yesterday by saying that we had been climbing to the hill behind our house round. I present to you the wonderful panorama and landscape surrounding the hill and the sunset end of the day. Click here

This morning, a lot of clouds and some rain but the sun came out in late afternoon. So I took the opportunity to photograph the houses of Havre aux Maisons, because they are unique is that many people paint their house bright colors which gives a special charm to this part of the island. I believe that according to legend the best sailors could identify their homes when they were off. I prepared a slide show for tomorrow. Good day!

The islands, day 3

This morning I got up but Mr. sun itself, no. But even two or three photographs, which m, is surprised to see the activity at this time of the day, joggers, people walking, cars are parked at the observation post, I I even saw an amateur photographer up the hill while I round the top of my balcony I watched all this theatrical scene at 06 am!
Today we went to the South Downs, a beautiful beach with red cliffs, caves and a sea blue. My love asked if they were older gentlemen St. Pierre because she told them she was in paradise ..!

It is possible to see other photos of the Dunes South clicking here.

We ended the day with a small climbing the hill behind our house round to catch the sunset, dinner at 9:00 p.m. with smoked trout to the menu and a Skype session with our "bidou" our daughter is in Myrtle U.S. beach with her boyfriend. Long live technology!

Good day!

The islands, day 2

As agreed, this was a day of rest, I have the sunrise over the sea in my bedroom! This morning around 5am 15 I opened the eye and saw through the window as the sky was burning, sir sun would soon rise, but not me! Got turned on with a bit of guilt but I'm told there will be others ..

A sunny day, hot, so some pictures around. Behind my house there is a hill called La Butte Ronde, hence the name of the house, you have a window and the small lighthouse at Cape Alright opposite.

We left at 6:45 p.m. to see the sunset and take some pictures, unfortunately, the clouds appeared I managed that this c is like that to the Islands! The rays coming out of clouds, the islands we call it the "feet of wind" it is also a cheese made by that name. Good day!

Check Islands

It is with some delay as I write this morning after two days of car and five hours by boat, I allowed myself a long nap ...! What a beautiful journey! A calm sea, a warm wind (which is rare here on the sea) and we finally arrived at the scheduled time 19:00. Lile Entry majestic awaited us, as we have welcomed and we entered the port of Grindstone. 5 minutes later we arrived at our house. The islanders are very hospitable to show this small pirate ship that came to welcome us before entering the harbor, is a tradition here, sometimes there are three or four to come and say hello.

Time to unpack, take possession of the house, (we are in second place with views over the sea and a small lighthouse just below), we had our first full moon on the sea, a beautiful night and nap time! Good day for me today it will probably be under the sign of relaxation.

Destination Islands

By the time you read this, I'm on the boat that brings me to the Magdalen Islands, a journey of five hours. I should arrive about 19 hours. Fifteen days of wind, beach, photos, landscapes! So I suggest you join me by reading my diary which will, for the next two weeks my posts on this blog. I will try to deliver at least two to three photos per day, this will probably be difficult because it will be lots of things to phorographier, we'll see!
Last year I made an album as part of a safari organized by the College Marsan. To give you a taste I will propose again. Good Sunday!

Happiness, a definition

WALK IN THE NATURE OF OUR MEETING TO TENDERNESS

WALK ... freedom, health, vitality, desire, decision, tracking, change, autonomy, acceptance

IN THE WILD ... harmony, environment, peace, energy, healing, space, time, comfort.

MEET THE ... hope, purpose, ideal, cause, passion, expectation, communication, anticipation

OUR ... multiplicity, non-dualism, pluralism, flexibility, openness, Learning, decompartmentalisation

Tenderness ... all forms of relationships, the passion of people and things or explored states, continued, even the most discreet complicity or even the most tacit.

This phrase comes from a young pharaoh who abandoned his name of Amenhotep IV to take that Aken-en-Aten.

Happiness: the surrender or let go

Abandonment
We are at the last characteristic of happy people: the faculty of abandonment. On abandoning his fears most, he is talking about "letting go", in short, be trusted to self, others, the events to life.

There is a drop in the submission which may become a supreme form of freedom. The monastic rules, the actor who gives himself to words, a musician who abandons himself to the head while remaining deeply himself, the swimmer who abandons the laws of physics, we are far from fear, since the best way not to float, is to fight the water ... this reconciliation with reality is the fundamental attitude of Yes which was discussed previously ..

Desjrdins Arnaud talks about the importance of the mind:
''It is the mind which, from a fact, draws conclusions for minutes, days. It is the mind that decides that this is good news or bad.''

And what is the mind that a decision is good news? The difference between what is and what would that be. It is the opposite of abandonment since then constantly refuses the reality and they refuse, what is denied is gaining importance.
Then he addresses the emotion:
Emotion''is not produced by the fact itself, as dramatic as it is, but by the refusal of fact, the coexistence of yes and no. Since I can not accept the fact, I accept the emotion. Every emotion is called to die as it had a beginning, it will end. No joy or suffering is eternal.''
It is understandable therefore, why we are intoxicated by fears that we hardly dare say our joys touch wood! The exorcism of fear is both cause and effect of abandonment.
Speaking of abandonment is also talk of its opposite, the planning. Men more than women tend to plan to set goals so that women give themselves more easily. The essential things happen in life without having necessarily been planned. The drop has nothing to do with the resignation or carelessness: abandonment, the laissez-come, let it be.

That is the end of this exploration of happiness, from the book by Robert Blondin: happiness. I hope these few hints will help you live better as time goes, Yes! This is also part of my thinking about time! Take the time to be happy, learn to control these characteristics are in fact skills, seems an interesting challenge in this time .... Tomorrow, I will offer a definition of happiness as Robert Blondin gave us at the end of his book and he explains in three chapters.
