the islands, 7 days

Hurricane Earl visited us! This morning when we get up, the sun was up and we took our latte on the porch and we said "this is not possible for a hurricane hit us come" well hey! he arrived at around 14 hours, preceded by heavy rain with a sea began to form. And then suddenly we hear raindrops in the house here and there, soon we leave the pans, cups furniture, the wind takes the BBQ that was poorly attached to the gallery, so I'm going downstairs and found cable back and tie the beast it took me at least half an hour, I walked the red eye because I got rain in your face, all wet, it is about 15 hours, the winds are about 100 km / hour, the house on all sides motion, the frames on the walls dance, the wind whistles and winter, the sea is rough and there is no electricity. It is almost 16 hours when the wind suddenly changes direction after a brief lull during which I went to take some pictures of the sea stopped raining but the wind is gusting continuous, power is restored, we were in the eye of Earl!.
It is 21: 30 pm, the wind still dehorning cattle, executives are still dancing, home motion, gusts must reach 125 km / hr. I never thought a hurricane live in Quebec, this is my first and hopefully my last!
The wind is supposed to stop 23 hours, by then, we eat our smoked trout, drink our dew at his door and windows that do not end more than lament. My computer is on the table and it moves when I am writing these few lines ... Our vosines from below had to leave today by air is not known if they were able to leave the islands, but ladies if you read these lines let us know. By the way, your Bouillabaise was exquisite! The photos do not do justice to the strength that nature unfolds but you still have a little insight. To watch full screen!

I am glad that I could avoid the hurricane ... from your description it stirred a lot! Your site is interesting and you have beautiful pictures. Glad to hear that you enjoyed our Bouillabaise.

Returning to work is going well ... but I miss the sea already.
